Blog: TALK ON THE HILL with JOHN COMMINS

2/15/2012

Last Thursday we left to get the sour taste out of our mouth. We were excited to pack and hit the road for South Carolina and play our season opener. The excitement and buzz was evident to everyone as we went on our first business trip of the year. It turned out to be a disappointing weekend as our 0-3 record shows but it put a burn inside of us to become better because we have a long road ahead of us to get to where we want to be.  Ever since losing in the Conference tournament we have set the goal to put ourselves in a position to succeed this year. We are confident in our abilities and our blue collar attitude that Coach Palmer instilled in us. Playing the game the right way, pushing through the grind and past the pain we will go as far as we're meant to. When we walk off the field at the end of the season whether it's with the conference championship or not we will be able to look our coaches and fellow teammates in the eye and know that we pushed ourselves as far as we could possibly go. The pain of losing never subsides you just learn to live with it, so may the baseball gods shine on us all year.
