MEN'S SOCCER BLANKS BOBCATS 2-0

BUCKHANNON, WV - Freshman midfielder Humberto Bertran and freshman forward David Nuernberg each scored goals to lead Davis & Elkins to a 2-0 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in WVIAC men's soccer action at West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday.

Nuernberg scored at the 19:56 mark on assist from Bertran to give the Senators a 1-0 lead and they never looked back.

Bertran scored his goal in the 89th minute off an assist from freshman Branko Dugalic.

Both teams finished the match with 13 shots and three corner kicks.

Freshman goalkeeper Daniel Nock went the distance in the net and finished with three saves to earn the win.

D&E improves to 6-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the WVIAC, while Wesleyan falls to 7-3-1, and 4-2.

The Senators will travel to Slippery Rock on Wednesday for a key regional contest at 4 p.m.
