MEN'S SOCCER ELIMINATED BY CHARLESTON

CHARLESTON, WV - The Davis & Elkins men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to the University of Charleston Thursday night in the semifinals of the WVIAC Tournament.

The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead st the intermission and tacked on a goal in the second half en route to the victory.

In the 27th minute of the match, Dion Peters crossed the ball from the right side of the pitch to Adam Hintz, who headed home the first score of the contest.

Just before the break, Craig Cantor recorded a long throw toward the goal.  The ball found Ryan Osborne and he headed it in for a 2-0 lead at halftime.

The match stayed at 2-0 in favor of UC until the 75th minute of play.  Rob Vincent played a long ball through to Peters, who beat the keeper for the final goal of the evening.

Sean Teepen stopped all nine shots on goal for the shutout win.  Freshman Daniel Nock allowed recorded 10 saves for the Senators.

UC totaled 21 shots to 15 by D&E.  The Golden Eagles also had five corner kicks to just two by the Senators.

D&E falls to 12-6-1 and UC improves to 12-6.
