ELKINS, WV - The Davis & Elkins women's soccer team defeated Urbana University 2-1 Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at River Bend Park.
Urbana scored first in the 23rd minute when Katie Felty placed a shot out of the reach of keeper Ashley Winkelspecht.
D&E tied the match at one when freshman forward Emma Davis scored in the 49th minute.
Senior midfielder Alexa McCartney scored the winning goal off a penalty kick at the 69:45 mark.
Freshman goalkeeper Ashley Winkelspecht had two saves for the Senators, while Meghan Taucher had six saves.
D&E improves to 6-6-1 on the season and will host Seton Hill Saturday at 6 p.m. at Buckhannon-Upshur High School.
