WOMEN'S SOCCER DROPS OPENER AT BLOOMSBURG

BLOOMSBURG, PA - Tara Huber scored two goals Thursday afternoon to lead Bloomsburg University past Davis & Elkins 4-0 in the season opener for both teams.

The Huskies scored 9:50 into the game when Huber beat Senator keeper Ashley Winkelspecht off a deflection.  Kyleigh Reckage made the deficit 2-0 when she scored at the 12:48 mark.

Katie Walczuk scored for the Huskies to make the margin 3-0 at the break.  Huber scored the lone goal in the second half off an assist from Jamie Vaniver.

Bloomsburg limited the Senators offense to just four shots for the game while the Huskies recorded 16 shots.

Winkelspecht went the distance in her first collegiate game and finished with nine saves for D&E.

Cole Dant, Alexa McCartney, Jael Fedora, and Victoria Gustitis each recorded a shot in the loss for the Senators.

D&E will be back in action on Sunday when they host Mercyhurst College at 1 p.m. at Buckhannon-Upshur High school.
