Former D&E tennis player Otis Cutshaw ('98) enters his first season as the head men's and women's tennis coach at Davis & Elkins College. A former professional player, Otis has held USTA State and Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings over the last 20 years and finished his college career with a combined record of 76-22.
Cutshaw began his coaching career immediately after high school as he served as the assistant coach at Calvert High School and the assistant teaching pro for the officer's club at Pax River Naval Base from 1990-1993. He started his playing career at Charles County Community College where he was a two-time state and regional champion and his team was ranked nationally. As a sophomore Cutshaw finished in the top 8 in the country as a doubles player.
While at D&E Cutshaw was a part of two teams that were regionally ranked and during his senior year he also served as a student assistant coach with the women's team who finished third in the conference. After graduation Cutshaw continued his coaching career as an assistant coach at Lexington High School in Ohio and also served as the teaching pro at the Lakewood Racquet Club.
