VOLLEYBALL DROPS TWO ON THE ROAD

CEDARVILLE, OH- The D&E Senators dropped two matches in Cedarville, OH over the weekend.

Playing in a tri-match against host Cedarville University and Urbana University on Saturday, the Senators played well but fell to 8-12 on the season.

Facing Cedarville (11-8) in the opening match, D&E played close but couldn't come up with the points when needed, dropping the match 3-0 (23-25, 21-25, 19-25).  Senior Jana Lowe and Junior Brandi Brown both had 7 kills in the match.  Senior Bre Tognoli had 18 assists and Junior Meaghan Emery had 7 digs to top the team in those categories.

In match number two, the Senators faced Urbana University and took the match all the way to five sets before falling 3-2 (20-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 8-15).  Brown once again led the team in kills with 17 while Junior Heather Zapf added 13 and Freshman Nicole Miller had 10.  Senior Bre Tognoli was all over the floor handing out 31 assists.  Emery led the way with 18 digs.

The team will be back on the court Tuesday, October 4th at Ohio Valley University in conference action starting at 7:00 pm.
