Coach Ashley Pappas is entering her first year as head coach at Davis & Elkins. Coach Pappas comes to Davis & Elkins after spending the last four seasons at West Virginia University as an assistant volleyball coach, where most recently her main responsibility was as a recruiting coordinator, under head coach Jill Kramer in her first two seasons for the Mountaineers.
She is a former Big East student-athlete having competed at West Virginia University from 2004-07, serving as team captain in her senior season. Pappas graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Psychology in 2008. Before her stint at WVU, the Naperville, IL native was a member of the Sports Performance Volleyball Club from 1998-2004, capturing an AAU National Title in 2001.
Active in the community, Pappas has also been involved in volunteering activities with Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association, Stepping Stones- for children and adults with disabilities, and Choosy Kids Club- promoting healthy and active lifestyles for children.
